Creating an Account and Logging In

You can create travel plans in TabiPencil without an account, but logging in lets you access the same plans from any device and unlocks features such as templates.

To register with an email address

  1. Choose "Sign Up" from the menu in the top right (the "Sign Up" screen opens).
  2. Enter your "Email Address", "Display Name", "Password", and "Confirm Password". The password must be at least 8 characters.
  3. Press the "Sign Up" button. A 6-digit verification code is sent to the email address you entered.

To verify your email address

  1. On the "Verify Email Address" screen shown after registration, enter the 6-digit "Verification Code" from the email.
  2. Press "Verify" to complete verification; you will be taken to the login screen.
  3. If the code doesn't arrive, press "Resend code". Codes are valid for 15 minutes.

If you try to log in before verifying, you will see "Please verify your email address. Enter the code from the verification email."

To log in

  1. Choose "Login" from the menu.
  2. Enter your "Email Address" and "Password", then press "Login".
  3. After logging in, your travel plan list (dashboard) is displayed.

To try TabiPencil without an account, use "Try without account" on the login screen to go straight to trip creation. Note that by registering or logging in you accept the terms, as stated: "By using this service, you agree to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy."

To sign in with a Google account

Use the "Sign in with Google" button on the login and sign-up screens to log in with your Google account directly. No password needs to be set.

  • Google sign-in does not work inside in-app browsers such as LINE. If you see "Google sign-in is not available in this browser. Please tap the menu in the top-right and choose "Open in browser".", follow the instructions to open the page in your default browser, or use "Copy URL" and paste the link into a browser.
  • If you see "This email address is already registered with a different sign-in method. Please log in using your existing method.", log in with the method you registered first (such as email and password).

To link a Google account with an existing account

If you sign in with a Google account whose address is already registered with email and password, the "Confirm Account Linking" screen appears.

  1. Following the on-screen guidance, enter your current account "Password".
  2. Press "Confirm and Link" to complete linking. From then on you can log in with either method.

If you forgot your password

  1. Press "Forgot your password?" on the login screen.
  2. On the "Forgot Password" screen, enter your registered email address and press "Send Reset Link".
  3. Open the link in the email to reach the "Set New Password" screen. The link is valid for 1 hour.
  4. Enter "New Password" and "Confirm New Password", then press "Reset Password".
  5. When done, log in with your new password.

To change your password while logged in

  1. Open "Settings" from your avatar in the top right (the "Account Settings" screen).
  2. In the "Change Password" section, enter "Current Password", "New Password", and "Confirm New Password".
  3. Press "Change Password" to finish.

If you only use Google sign-in, the password change section is not shown.

To log out

Open the menu from your avatar in the top right and choose "Logout".
