Checklists and Packing Templates

Last updated: 2026-08-12

Manage trip preparation with checklists on the "Prep" screen. There are two tabs, "Packing" and "To-do", and each has a shared list for everyone plus a private list of your own.

To open the preparation screen

Open your travel plan and choose "Prep" in the navigation. Switch between "Packing" and "To-do" with the tabs at the top.

Using the packing list

  • "Shared Items": a shared list visible to every member of the travel plan — as noted, "Visible to all members". Good for things the group needs to coordinate, like who brings sheets or towels. The shared list appears when the trip has two or more members.
  • "My Items": as noted, "This list is visible only to you" — your private list, invisible to other members.

Item operations are as follows.

  1. Type a name into the input field ("Enter an item..." or "Enter a shared item...") and add it with "Add item".
  2. Check items off as they're ready. Progress is shown like "0/3 checked".
  3. Remove unneeded items with "Delete item".
  4. Use "Share with everyone" to move an item from your list to the shared list, and "Move to my items" for the reverse.
  5. Reorder items by drag and drop.

Using the to-do list

The "To-do" tab manages tasks such as currency exchange and bookings. It works like the packing list, split into "Shared To-dos" and "My To-dos".

  • To give a task a due date, press "No due date" below the input field. Pick a suggestion such as "Today", "Tomorrow", "Day before departure" or "Day 1", or choose a date on the calendar, then press "Confirm" before adding the task. Your travel dates are highlighted on the calendar, and you can page through months to reach dates months before the trip.
  • Leave the time as "All day", or turn "All day" off to set a time. "9:00", "10:00", "18:00" and "23:59" are one press away.
  • To change a due date afterwards, press the due date on the right of the task (or "+ Due" if it has none). "Remove due date" clears it.
  • Past-due tasks show their due date in orange with a warning icon (screen readers announce "Overdue").
  • Progress is shown like "0/3 done".

Using packing templates

Save your usual packing set as a template so you don't have to retype it for every trip. Templates require login.

To save your current list as a template:

  1. Choose "Save as template" on the packing list.
  2. Enter a "Template name" and save. "Template saved" confirms it worked.

To apply a template:

  1. Choose "Apply template" on the packing list and pick the template.
  2. As the confirmation says, the template's items are added: existing items are kept, and duplicates are skipped.

You can keep up to 3 templates per account. At the limit you'll see "You can have up to 3 templates" — delete one you no longer need before saving.

Managing templates on the dashboard

The "Packing Templates" section on the dashboard (after login) also lets you manage templates.

  1. Press "Create template" and enter a "Template name".
  2. Register items with "Add item".
  3. Delete templates you no longer need (you'll be asked "Delete this template?").

The to-do list offers "Save as template" and "Apply template" in the same way.
