Finding hotels on the map

When you create a stay plan, you can look for hotels near your other plans that day on a map and check availability and rates. Booking happens on the Agoda website.

Hotel search is available when you use the site in Japanese or access it from Japan.

To open hotel search

1. Press an empty slot on the timeline and start a plan with "Enter manually".
2. Set "Type" to "Stay".
3. Press "Find hotels on the map" below the "Hotel Name" field. The "Find a hotel" screen opens.

"Find hotels on the map" appears only while you are creating a new plan. It is not shown when you edit a stay plan you already saved.

To get hotel picks from your preferences

Above "Find hotels on the map", "What kind of place?" lets you choose from "Budget", "Near my plans", "Well reviewed", "A little luxury", and "Cleanliness".

• Choose one or more and the 3 hotels that best match appear right in the form. When you choose several, hotels that satisfy them together come first.
• Changing your choices re-orders the hotels shown.
• To book, use "View on Agoda" on a hotel. When "Add option" is shown, you can keep several hotels as options.
• To see more hotels, press "See more (search on the map)" to open the "Find a hotel" screen.
• Choose "Cleanliness" to see a summary of each shown hotel's Google Maps reviews ("Google review summary"). Press "Read more" to read a long summary in full. "See reviews on Google Maps" opens the reviews themselves, and "Report" lets you report a problem with the summary to Google. Hotels without a summary show "No review summary on Google Maps". "Cleanliness" does not change the order of the hotels (when it is your only choice, hotels are ordered as for "Well reviewed").
• "Well reviewed" uses Agoda's overall review score. Rates need dates, so add a check-in date when you choose "Budget".
• Your choices are remembered on this device and are selected again the next time you create a plan.

To search for hotels

• The map shows "Your plans" (your plans on the same day) and "Hotels on Agoda". Press a hotel pin to see its details below the map.
• Move the map and press "Search this area" to search again within the visible area.
• Press the search conditions at the top (destination, dates, guests) to change them. Edit "Destination", "Check-in", "Check-out", and "Adults", then press "Search with these". The dates you choose here are also applied to the check-in and check-out of the plan you are creating.
• Switch between "Map" and "List". In the list, use "Sort" to choose "Suggested", "Lowest price", or "Top rated". Press "Show on map" to see where a hotel is.

To check availability and rates

When dates are set, each hotel shows its rate and review score. Without dates, you see "Add dates to see availability and rates"; press "Add dates" to enter them. Hotels in Japan are listed even without dates, but hotels outside Japan appear only after you add dates.

Rates exclude taxes and fees. Prices and availability are provided by Agoda. To book, press "View on Agoda" on a hotel and complete the booking on the Agoda website.

Choosing a hotel does not fill in the plan's "Hotel Name" automatically. Enter the name of the hotel you booked, then press "Create".

To find hotels with AI chat

When you are logged in and ask AI chat about places to stay, it may show hotel suggestions as cards (under the same condition as hotel search: the site is in Japanese, or you access it from Japan). Use "View on Agoda" on a card to open that hotel, or "See more on Agoda" to browse other hotels on Agoda. Cards cannot be added to your plans directly, so register the hotel you booked as a stay plan.
