Importing Booking Confirmation Emails
Last updated: 2026-07-03
Forward booking confirmation emails — hotels, flights, restaurants — to the dedicated email address of your travel plan, and their contents are read automatically to create plans. Bookings scattered across different sites come together in your itinerary.
Requirements
- You must be a logged-in member, and forward from the email address registered with your TabiPencil account.
- The travel plan must have a "Main" (★) schedule adopted. Plans are created in the main schedule.
To find the forwarding address
- On the "Schedule" tab, press an empty slot to open "Choose how to add".
- Pick "Create from email" to open the "Create plans from email" screen.
- Your trip's dedicated forwarding address is shown; press "Copy" to keep it. The address has the form of 13 alphanumeric characters followed by @tabipencil.com, and is different for each travel plan.
The screen also explains: "Sending an email to this address will automatically create a plan in the ⭐ schedule." and "You must send from the email address you are logged in with."
To import a booking confirmation email
- Open the confirmation email from the booking site.
- Forward it as-is to the address you copied.
- After a short while, the contents (hotel name, check-in time, flight and departure/arrival times, and so on) are read and a plan is added to the main schedule automatically.
The created plan keeps the original email body, so you can open the plan later to check the full booking details. If something was read incorrectly, open the plan and fix it with "Update".
If nothing gets imported
- Does the sending address match the one registered with TabiPencil? Emails forwarded from an unregistered address (a work account, for example) are not processed. If the booking site has a different address on file, forward the email to your registered address first, then on to TabiPencil.
- Does the travel plan have a main (★) schedule? With multiple schedules, press "Adopt This" on the one that should receive imports.
- The forwarding address differs per travel plan — make sure you're not sending to another trip's address.
Good to know
- Because the email is parsed by AI, imports aren't limited to specific booking sites — any confirmation email with dates and places can be imported. One email creates one plan, so forward each booking separately.
- The forwarding address is always available on the "Create plans from email" screen. If you use it often, saving it to your email contacts makes forwarding easier.
- Plans created from email can be edited, moved, and deleted like any other plan.
