Using the Mobile App

Last updated: 2026-07-03

TabiPencil has a mobile app for iOS and Android. Core features are the same as the web version, with two app-only additions: offline itinerary viewing and push notifications. Note that the app's native screens (login and offline view) are currently displayed in Japanese.

To log in to the app

Launching the app shows the login screen. You can sign in with any of the following.

  • Enter your email and password, then press "ログイン" (Log in)
  • "Googleでログイン" (Sign in with Google)
  • "Appleでログイン" (Sign in with Apple, iOS only)

Your web account works as-is. To try without an account, "ログインせずに試してみる →" (Try without logging in) takes you to trip creation.

From the second launch onward, the app may restore your session with your device's biometrics (fingerprint or face recognition).

To view your itinerary offline

When you open a travel plan in the app, its contents (schedules, plans, members, payments, and checklists) are saved to your device automatically. No extra steps needed.

If you open the app with no connection, it switches to an offline view of the saved data, with an "オフラインモード" (offline mode) banner at the top.

  • Schedule tab: browse each day's plans; tap a plan for its times, memo, and other details.
  • Checklist tab: review your lists and check items off.

On a plane or abroad without connectivity, the itineraries you viewed recently remain available. A travel plan you've never opened in the app has no saved data and shows "オフラインデータがありません" (no offline data) — so open your itinerary in the app once before the trip.

Files attached to plans and Gallery photos are not available offline.

What happens to changes made offline

Checks and memo edits made offline are stored on the device and shown as pending sync (for example "2件の変更を同期待ち" — 2 changes waiting to sync). When the connection returns, the app shows "変更を同期中..." (syncing changes) and applies them to the server automatically. No manual action is needed. If your login has expired at sync time, the login screen appears — just sign in again.

To receive push notifications

  1. When you log in to the app, a dialog asks for notification permission — allow it.
  2. When a member adds, updates, or deletes a plan in a travel plan you participate in, you get a notification (for example: Haruka added "Yokohama Chinatown").
  3. Tapping the notification opens that travel plan.

If notifications don't arrive, check that the app is allowed to send notifications in your device settings. You can also toggle them with "Push notifications" in "Account Settings".

Opening links in the app

On a device with the app installed, opening a travel plan share link (a tabipencil.com link) opens it directly in the app instead of the browser. The app also remembers the travel plan you had open last, so the next launch resumes from that itinerary.
