Viewing Your Day on the Timeline
Last updated: 2026-07-03
The timeline on the "Schedule" tab lays out your trip as one column per day, each divided into hour marks. Plans appear as blocks sized to their time span, so the flow of a day and its free time are visible at a glance.
Reading the timeline
- The date appears at the top of each column. Today's column is highlighted with a background color.
- Plan blocks sit at their start and end times, sized to their duration. Type icons show instantly whether it's transport, a meal, and so on.
- Stay (accommodation) plans span from check-in to check-out as a bar across days. For stays of two nights or more, middle days are labeled "Consecutive stay".
- Plans in the same time band are shown slightly offset from one another.
- The bottom of each day shows the total of the expenses recorded on that day's plans.
To move between days
- Scroll horizontally to reach other days.
- The "Previous" and "Next" buttons also move one day at a time.
To change the trip period
Use "Edit period" from the date (period) display above the timeline to change the start and end dates. If no dates are set yet, "Period not set" is shown — set them from there. The period is saved per schedule.
To change the displayed hours
For trips that rarely use early mornings or late nights, narrowing the displayed hours makes the timeline easier to read.
- Open the "Settings" screen (also reachable from "Display & default currency (app settings)" in travel plan settings).
- Under "Display Settings", choose "Display Start Time" and "Display End Time".
- Press "Save".
Plans outside the displayed hours are not lost — only the visible start and end of the day change.
To change the display density
Adjust how many hours fit on one screen with "Timeline Density".
- "Compact (~9 hours)": about 9 hours per screen — good for an overview.
- "Narrow (~7.5 hours)"
- "Standard (~6 hours)"
- "Spacious (~5 hours)": about 5 hours per screen — easier to read on days with many short plans.
These display settings are saved per browser.
